Made with cocoa powder, not chocolate. I always have cocoa powder, never have chocolate.

Ingredients 

140 grams butter

250 grams sugar

65 grams cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 large eggs, cold

65 grams plain flour

75 grams walnut or pecan nuts (optional)

Method

Oven at 325°F. 

Melt together the butter, sugar, cocoa, and salt. Mixture will be grainy.

Set the bowl aside briefly until the mixture is only warm, not hot. 

Stir in the vanilla, eggs and then flour. Beat vigorously. Add nuts if using. 

Bake until a toothpick plunged into the center emerges slightly moist with batter, 20 to 30 minutes.
