5 bramley apples, peeled and cored
2 tablespoons water
450g ready made puff pastry
75g melted butter
4 tablespoons sugar
Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
Roughly chop 3 apples, cook them in a pan with 2 tablespoons water. Cover and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Whisk to a smooth purée, cool.
Roll pastry to 30cm diameter circle. Lightly score inner circle 1cm in.
Brush pastry with egg. Wait. Repeat.
Spread cold purée over the inner circle.
Layer thin slices of the 2 remaining apples.
Brush slices with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
